Homecoming.

Since homecoming is coming up soon, I thought I'd pick a few dresses that I liked, and share with you. This year is my senior year, and I'm not able to go to my homecoming, because my dad is getting married on that day, but I'm still buying a dress for my birthday.

All of these dresses are from DEB's website.
I realize my posts have super short lately, but I'm concentrating on my school work and graduating, so to the loyal readers, please stick with me, it wont be like this for long.
Love,
Tay♥

OOTD :)

Every year before school starts my grandma takes me shopping for new clothes, so this year I thought I'd dress a little nicer since it's my last year.
This cropped top I got at Charlotte Russe, I believe it was $20
undershirt, also from Charlotte Russe, around $8 (keep in mind I bought these clothes awhile ago)
Shorts, American Eagle High Waist shorts, $30
Purse- Rue 21, $15

MAC Review.

For Christmas I got the 6 Dashing Lassie Eye Shadows from MAC, I think I was building it up to be something fantastic because "OMG IT'S MAC!"
I was very disappointed when I wore it for the first time this summer, don't get me wrong it gave me an amazing look, but when I got home and looked in the mirror, I realized it had creased, which actually really upset me, since my N.Y.C. eyeshadow (I'll do a review on that and maybe even a tutorial!) lasts all day without creasing at all.. I'm really hesitant to buy anymore MAC problems because of this.

It came with a little brush, that I can't stand! It makes my eyes itch like crazy! I don't know if you can tell how pretty the colors are since I'm just using my webcam, I'll try to post a picture below!
Top row (L-R); Showstopper (M), Buckwheat (F), Bronze (F).
Bottom Row; Magical Mist (L), Once upon A Time...(VXP), A Dashing Lassie (F).
They're GORGEOUS colors, but they really don't show up that great.. :(
I'll be trying different looks with this makeup to see if I get the same results, but for now, I'm very disappointed in the results I got, hopefully that opinion changes.

Thanks for reading girls!

Back to School!

Since I just can't seem to want to stop blogging, here we go, I've been reading a lot of forums on Elleandblair.com about girls wanting to know what to wear, how to act, and what makeup to wear for freshman year.  Well, if you want people to like you for YOU, which is really important, be you, wear what you want to wear, act how you've always acted, and as for make up, don't wear a lot of makeup, the more makeup you wear the more over powering your look is, just don't wear too much.

Dress up, wear dresses, skirts, heels, skinny jeans, whatever your style may be, strut your stuff, you only have one life, don't live with regrets.

Some days you won't even get out of your PJ's! Why should you? Be comfortable!
Makeup:

Go soft warm colors, bright spunky colorful looks, or just don't wear any makeup at all!

You'll eventually realize you don't have to impress people, just be you and they'll love you!
If you go to a small school like I do, the upperclassmen will be a little tough on you, but some of my best friends were the upperclassmen, they're tough on you because you're the underdogs, throughout the year they get much nicer.
If you want to do sports, you'll have to find time for homework, which can easily be done after practice, I hope this helps! :)

Enjoy high school while you can, it may not all be rainbows and butterflies, but it's not that hard either...

Sending my love half way across the world♥

I've been hearing about the rioting in London, and I finally looked up what's going on (readers from London, if you know exactly why this all started, please post in the comments below).
From what the news clip I watched said, the riots began due to a guy getting shot, if you guys know why this all started (even if you aren't from London) please let me know.

As I was looking this up, there was one picture that really made me sad (all of the pictures from the riot made my heartache), it was an 89 year old man standing in his hairdressing salon after the riot had been in there.
I've always wanted to visit London, and when I think of it, I think of it being the most beautiful place in the World.

My heart goes out to the innocent people who have lost their homes, business', and family members in this riot.  I may never understand why people riot of things like this, but they do.  It'd would absolutely suck to work so hard your entire life for something and just have it taken away like that.
This by all means will NOT stop me from visiting London, I hope everyone stays safe, and the riots are put to an end so no more people get hurt, emotionally or physically.  Just know I love you all, even if I don't know you. You only live once, and you have so much love to give, why not give it?

Keeping London in my thoughts and prayers, Tay♥

Grill Your Corn :)

Smoky Corn On the Cob! :)
Where I come from sweet corn is the best part of summer! Since it's sweet summer time, and most everyone loves corn, I thought I'd share a recipe I found with you, and also tell you how my family does it.

Prep: 5 mins
Cook: 15 mins
Peel back the husks from the corn and remove the silk. Butter the kernels and sprinkle with salt and smoked paprika. Fold the husks back over the corn and grill over low heat until cooked through, turning occasionally, 12 to 15 minutes.

Most everyone I know, takes the husks completely off and the extra cob you just pop off (if it's a stubborn one you may have to cut it) we also cut the tip off, because that part has usually been eaten by bugs. After we've done that, we put salt, pepper, and butter on, sometimes I add a little garlic spray to mine. Grill them till they're done and TA-DA you've got yourself delicious Sweet Corn! I also cover mine in butter before I eat, makes it 10 time better!

Let me know if you guys want more healthy foods, like salads and guilty pleasure snacks!

Sweet corn and lots of butter,
                                Tay♥

I got...NAKED!

I just got the Naked palette from Urban Decay today :) I was sooooooooo excited!!! The lady at Sephora goes "oooh! you're going with the Naked Palette! Good choice you can do so much with it" my response: "I know I've been wanting it for so long!" her: "Time to break down huh? You go for it girl!"
Honestly this girl made my day! It came with the little baby sized eye shadow primer potion, it's so tiny and cute!!! I can't wait to use it!
I know you can't read the names so I'll list them all. Top Row (L-R): Virgin, Naked, Buck, Smog, Toasted, Creep. Bottom Row: Sin, Side Car, Half Baked, Darkhorse, Hustle, Gunmetal. and a Shadow Karma Brush.
I think $48 is a good price, even though after tax you end up spending $50.81 I believe.
If you think about it, it's actually a good deal, because the brush is normally $26.00 the Primer bottle is $18.00 (and I suggest getting the bottle instead of the tube, you save a $1.00) and one eyeshadow is usually $17.00-$20.00. Add all that up and it comes to around $60.
I've heard this is worth the splurge so we'll see, I'll probably do a review once I use it.

I'll have a MAC review coming up soon as well. :)

Hope you guys like this.
Love,
       Tay ♥

Moisturizer review

Recently I bought Neutrogena Oil-free moisture for combination skin, I thought maybe this will work since it's the same brand as my face was, I broke out so bad from it and it was so drying that I just went back to using normal body lotion, I'll probably use it again just because I did spend my money on it, but I definitely don't recommend it.

If you know of any good moisturizers let me know please! and it doesn't have to be for combination skin either. :)

Elementary

I don't about anyone else, but for me in elementary I use to wear overalls...

Shorts, dresses, full length pants, you name it, I wore it.
Well, the other day before I went to see Harry Potter, my best friends and I were in Forever 21, and we were kind of just playing dress up and what not, but we found overalls! and I just had to try them on!
Overalls were what my childhood consisted of...and of course 90's cartoons! I'm debating on going back and buying these I absolutely love them, they're super comfy and the ones I tried were definitely what you wear while you're working and of course while you're playing on the playground ♥
Hers are a little too dressy for what we use to wear, but it was the only other style they had.
Price: $22.80

P.S. If you guys want to do the "get to know me" post, go ahead.  I'd love to read your post, just post them in the comments if you do one!

1. What is your favorite thing to do?
Hang out with my family and friends, do my makeup, and read!

2. If you could only fill your wardrobe from two stores, what would they be?
Forever21 and Rue21 probably.

3. What is your favorite book?
I have a lot of favorites, I like the Twilight saga, but only New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn, I also like Nicholas Sparks' books, The Wedding, A Walk to Remember, and A Bend In The Road.

4. If you could only shop one store for ALL of your makeup, what would it be?
Sephora. (and actually, if I wasn't in love with urban decay, I could live with buying my makeup at a drugstore)

5. What is your most embarrassing moment?

I'm not really sure, maybe when one of my friends thought it was funny to unsnap my bra and then the teacher tell me I had to move seats, and I wasn't able to fix it until after class...

6. What is your favorite song?
I actually answered this one above in the ABC

7. If you could go back in time, and tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
I would tell myself to cherish every moment I have with my mom, since she passed away of cancer when I was just 11. And I definitely tell myself not to blame myself for her death because it's not my fault, and I'd say this "when you find that right guy, don't leave him wondering why you're mom isn't around. And definitely don't settle for anything less than you deserve. Make sure you keep your head up and be YOU, not what everyone else wants you to be, because no matter what, your mom is looking down smiling at you!"

8. What movie do you really want to see right now?
Harry Potter, I just saw it, but I soooooo want to see it again!!! I LOVED IT! or Winnie the Pooh, haha ♥

9. What do you want to persue a career in?
I'm not sure about the career part, I'm going to major in Sociology and minor in photography! With Sociology I can become a social worker or a case worker, and photography is just a dream I've had.. I use to want to be a fashion designer, but that didn't last long.

10. What is your guilty pleasure?
dr. pepper I guess, but I quit drinking pop!! :) so I guess it'd have to be Chocolate ice cream and Hot Fudge ♥ OR!! Peanut butter and Ham sandwich, tell me the weirdest food you eat in comments!!

11. What fashion/trend are you loving right now?
I don't really have a favorite, I love anything random that shows my personality.

12. Who is your celebrity idol?
Marilyn Monroe!

14. Who is your favorite person to hang out with?
Amanda (the girl in my youtube videos!) and Tabi, they're so funny and they know the real me! and my best friend Benjamin! he makes me laugh soooo much! and I can tell him anything!

15. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I don't know, by the ocean in Florida, I even thought about California, but I'm not a city girl, so really anywhere (except Nebraska) on farm! I'll more than likely marry a city boy, he'll have to like the farm life, cause I think it's beautiful! Cities just make people angry, and it's kinda sad.

I hope you guys enjoyed getting to know me. :)

Skin Care.

I'm trying something new, so let me know if you guys want more beauty blogs or if you want just fashion, or vote up at the top of my page. :)

The skin care products I've used are:
Clean and Clear Daily Pore Cleanser
Proactiv
St. Ives Apricot Scrub
Neutrogena Skin iD

I'm not exactly sure how well the Clean and Clear worked because it's been so long ago that I used it, I know it didn't work for my sister (which is why we switched over to ProActiv).
Now, ProActiv was seriously like my life saver, I loved it, it worked AMAZING only problem was it was like $60. So after that, I just went to using Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo, on my face which may seem weird but it's a very minty shampoo so it woke you up and surprisingly it did clear up my acne pretty well. Recently, one of my friends introduced me to St. Ives apricot scrub, it worked really well for the first few months, but then I noticed it had stopped working, and I didn't like the texture of it, really sandy and if you put it anywhere near your mouth it got in there... which was really disgusting to me, it also didn't make my skin feel very clean either. Now, I'm currently using Skin iD and as long as I remember to use it and MOISTURIZE my face it works like a charm! A couple weeks ago I wouldn't suggest to a friend, now I definitely would! Some people say "It makes my skin feel tight" I agree it does, but if you put moisturizer on your face you wont have that problem.
So if you're looking for a good product to use, I definitely suggest either ProActiv or Skin iD!
If you're wondering Skin iD is $39.90 (and btw when the tv says it's only $19.99 or whatever it says, IT'S NOT TRUE!!) Proactiv prices depend, I guess they lowered their prices to $30 at the most, but that could be just a special. Either way if it's ProActiv you're looking into I'd jump on it now!! AND Skin iD usually has like "$5" off that they email you if you sign up, so If you've tried ProActiv and want to look into skin iD it's free to sign up and find out your numbers, when it gives you your personalized acne solution, that doesn't mean you have to buy it.. You can wait as long as you want.

I really hope this helps you guys!
Lots of Love,
Tay♥

Rue 21 Blog Haul!

what I bought was the orange bracelet which was $6, very cute with the right outfit!
Beige heels $7 extremely comfortable! :)
Black heels with white bow $7 also extremely comfortable.
I was on a bargain hunt, and Rue 21 ALWAYS has good ones, the only outrageous price was the bracelet, but I thought it'd go with a lot of my outfits. :)

these green heels, were very cute, not comfortable though, they'd take a lot of getting use to. I didn't buy them but I wanted to show them cause I thought they were gorgeous!
